NOW or NEVER Theatre
Betsy Tobin

The Now Or Never Theatre performances have a very strong visual component. In addition to designing and creating masks, puppets, and shadow figures and sets for the Now Or Never Theatre, Betsy Tobin has also created puppets and masks in Washington state for the City of Bellevue, and in Colorado for the City of Boulder, the Mizel Museum, Collage Children’s Museum, Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids, the University of Colorado Environmental Center, and the Procession of the Species. In 2002 she designed large figures of the Sun, the Moon & a Buffalo for the Procession of the Species. As Artistic Co-Director of the 2nd Boulder Procession of the Species, she designed and created a giant Dove puppet with Teresa Garcia’s bilingual 3rd Grade class at Uni Hill Elementary School.

Ms. Tobin designed shadow imagery for Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids’ production of “Alice in Wonderland” and masks for their production of “The Hobbit”.
She also created masks used in Express Yourself’s production of “Buzz” and their production of “My Mama had a Dancing Heart”.

“Puppet artist Betsy Tobin created marvelous figures, including
a giant friendly sun stick puppet and beautifully painted masks
representing stars.” Janine Gastineau,

Daily Camera – Friday Magazine

In 2005 she also designed sets for Michael Brody’s film: “Document”.
